Well may be yes, Walking into this small Ybor city establishment I was struck by the simplicity of the place. Would the food match the decor? Well. not really
We tried the seafood feast. a combination of Seafood, steamed in white wine and seasonings. I found it good but lacking in something. It came with nice sides. one of which was a Penne in Vodka sauce. Still something lacking in the sauce. however, it was a nice meal. Was it worth the $25.00?--- it could have been more. I am not sure what, seasonings maybe? the white wine could have been cooked out of the broth in the seafood combo? Could be?
The questions dear friends would I go back???
Yes, I always give any place at least 3 times. so Laughing Cat if you are listening. I am telling the folks who read this.... If you are in the mood for something that is different and have time to sit, eat and enjoy a nice glass of wine and fresh bread out of the oven. Go. Just remember there are other dishes to try and I sure the seafood combination will be better next time.
Oh, and did I say something about the Waite staff. who instead of just being order takers were more like "hey how are you doing tonight?" and mean it.
do try The Laughing Cat in Ybor City.
PS Fine folks of Tampa, Ybor City, If you have tired, it come back . If not, get in your car and come downtown. This has always been a place of unique cultural diversity, that has not changes over the past several decades. All thought the area is a Shadow of it's former self the flavors and the mood will always remain unique. It is still a gem.
Eat on Tampa.
