A $150 meal gone wrong

Good afternoon you folks who read this blog ... once again I am here telling you what the heck is good and not so good in the Tampa bay area
this time is not so good. My husband and I decided I would not cook this Thanksgiving( well I decided ) so Husband made reservations at the swanky Marchand's Bar and Grill in the Vinoy hotel and resort in downtown St Pete.
Great a nice afternoon of dinning and dessert then a snooze in a rocking chair on the porch.
Got to the restaurant ....seated and given a menu with 3 choices for dinner... soup , salad , entree, dessert. No drink (coffee-tea-etc) included with dinner.
Soup: a Butternut Squash Bisque with a pumpkin seed Brittle....the soup was ok but the brittle on top had a tendency to stick to teeth....off to the ladies room to get it from between the molars.
Salad. plain greens with a little ( and I do mean little) stuck to the bottom of the plate chev. and dried candied cranberries....once again off to the ladies room
then the main course. we opted for the sea bass. sitting on a bed of risotto, I caught a taste of beet and is it catsup??? I think it was a reduction but who knows. the bass was perfect. I must note here that risotto is a challenge for any chef and to serve it for the masses is a trick.... it's usually over or under cooked in this case under.... sorry chef.
Dessert. I got (guess) chocolate cheesecake. nice, again , not a cup of coffee or an espresso were offered. Sorry but I can not see spending that amount of money to get an adequate meal. Give me something extraordinary or at least memorable in a good way.
for Christmas dinner?? well it will not be there.
